Yonas Adaye Adeto holds a PhD degree in Peace Studies from the University of Bradford, UK. He has BA, MA as well as Cambridge Certificate in English; he also earned an MA degree in International Relations, and Postgraduate Diploma in Social Science Research, University of Bradford, UK (with merit). He has expertise in International Relations, Security Studies, Peace Studies and Peace Education. Over the years, he has facilitated diverse capacity-building workshops, including training peacebuilders, policy makers, etc in peace education/Global Citizen Education and C/PVE in Ethiopia, Kenya, and Uganda under the auspices of UNESCO-IICBA; in Lesotho under the auspices of UNESCO/Lesotho, and in South Korea (through UNESCO-APCEIU). He has prepared UNESCO-IICBA Trainer’s Guide for six Horn of African regional security complex states (Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, and Uganda). His research interest includes: peace education, peace and conflict research, security sector governance and development, global citizenship education, preventing violent extremism, peacebuilding, among others.
